⚖️ Welcome to the Solo Real Estate Law OS
Welcome! Setting up new practice management software can feel daunting, especially when you're running a solo practice and managing every detail yourself.
I built this operating system to be the opposite of clunky, expensive legacy software. It's a lean, visual workspace designed for the linear workflow of real estate transactions.
This guide will show you how to use this system to close deals faster, never miss a deadline, and keep your firm's finances compliant.
🗺️ Step 1: Understanding Your Workspace
Your dashboard is divided into three modules:
- The Core Hub & CRM: Track static deal information, including Active Matters (your master pipeline), Contacts & Directory (clients, brokers, opposing counsel), and Properties data.
- The Work: Your daily engine, divided into Critical Deadlines (drop-dead dates that legally matter) and Daily Tasks (your everyday work and time-tracking). Also includes your Document Hub.
- The Financial Suite: Designed for legal compliance, this separates your firm's Billing & Income, operating Expenses, and highly protected Trust / Escrow Ledger.
🚀 Step 2: The Core Workflow (How to Handle a New Closing)
When a new client calls you to handle a transaction, follow this workflow:
1. Create the Matter
- Navigate to the Active Matters database.
- Click
+ New and name the matter (e.g., "Purchase of 123 Main St").
- Set the status to "Pre-Contract" and enter your target closing date.
2. Add Your Counterparties
- Open the Contacts & Directory.
- Add the Client, Title Agent, and Opposing Counsel.
