1. What's inside

The system is built on 9 interconnected databases. Every record links to related records, so you can navigate from a fund to its LPs, from a deal to its capital activity, and from a company to its valuations — without duplicate data entry.

No manual math. Metrics like Total Committed, Dry Powder, MOIC, Unfunded Commitment, and EBITDA Margin are computed automatically by formulas from linked records. Just keep the relations filled in and the numbers stay correct.

2. Getting started (15 minutes)

  1. Create your fund. Open Funds and add a new entry — the Fund Template loads automatically with sections for strategy, key terms, and linked views of its deals, LPs, and capital activity.
  2. Add your LPs. In Investors (LPs), create one row per investor. Link each LP to your fund, set their Status and KYC Status, and log their commitment in Capital Activity (Type: Commitment).
  3. Load your pipeline. Add current opportunities in Deals and set the correct Stage. Link each deal to its Fund, and to a Portfolio Companies once it's real.
  4. Log money movements. Every call, investment, distribution, or fee is one row in Capital Activity — always linked to its Fund, and to the Investor or Deal it belongs to.
  5. Delete the sample data. The template ships with example funds, deals, LPs, and payments so you can see how everything connects. Once you understand the flow, select and delete the sample rows in each database.
